But we're also still in autumn mentality, with NaNoWriMo write-ins, book signings, and book clubs in full force. These endings and beginnings are part of life. Now is the perfect time to begin those elusive out-of-print book searches for the holiday gift-giving season, and to special order anything you've got your heart set on giving. Join Karen Gray Houston, award-winning broadcast journalist, and daughter of pioneering civil rights organizer Judge Thomas Gray for a talk about her book Daughter of the Boycott at the Shaker Heights Main Public Library. Houston will discuss her family’s leading roles in the 1955 Montgomery Bus Boycott, and her father’s efforts to fight housing discrimination in Ohio after her family moved to the Ludlow neighborhood of Shaker Heights. Books will be available to purchase at the event from Loganberry Books for signing by the author! Join author Aaron Jeter and his children for a book event at Loganberry Books! Weekends and Summers With Dad is a children's book written for children and parents in shared parenting situations. Everyone's path to parenting, step-parenting, grand-parenting, and uplifting children altogether can take different directions, and Aaron wrote this book not just for my children, but for all children and adults. This book is about how, no matter the situation, we can all positively influence one another's lives when we actively choose to engage on all levels of love. Aaron Jeter currently teaches African American and World History at Solon High School.
