Title: Sidewalk Sale It’s Sidewalk Sale time! And this time, we really do have a reason to celebrate the actual, physical sidewalks, because they’re all brand new, and they are complete! That isn’t to say that our massive Streetscape project here on Larchmere Boulevard is finished (we’re still waiting for new permeable pavers, park benches, bike racks and decorative crosswalks), but we’re in the home stretch. So, the whole street celebrates, and Loganberry has a 20% off book sale, as well as specials on the sidewalks, and early bird specials on 2015 calendars! Join us, and the rest of the Larchmere crew, plus a couple food trucks, for the bargain merriment on Labor Day weekend, this Saturday, August 30, 10am-6pm.

It is a book about Pete and Polly and their dog pippin the poodle. “It was a very hot day, I am tired of playing in this garden” sighed Pete, so am I agreed Polly, “I wish we could think of something to do” “Let’s go for a walk” sighed Pete “You promised you’d show me where the twisty path goes to” They ended up getting a key from a fish. A message was attached.. “this magic key will unlock the blue door, and that leads to Magic land, you can ride in the little red car, wherever it likes to take you. But bring back the key tomorrow without fail, or something dreadful will happen!” They rode in the car and met the three bears and a princess who had a lemonade fountain I think. Grant Deming Artists is a group of seven Cleveland Heights artists residing in Grant Deming's Historic District, including Natalia Bicvic, Cheryl Cochran, Jean Hoffman, Donna Marchetti, David Perelman-Hall, Sarah Wean and Rebecca Wickre. Their work encompasses many genres, including photography, watercolor, oil, textiles and mixed media. Show continues through September 28.

Come learn more from young writers who still work, read, and revere this smallest of literary masterpieces.

Stacie Murry: Godey’s Lady’s Book

Godey’s Lady’s Book was more than just a woman’s fashion magazine. It was published for 68 years from 1830 to 1898 and, although known for its fashion plates illustrating the latest styles, the magazine dealt with women’s issues of the 19th century. It also had a wealth of stories and poems by famous writers. It was edited by a woman, Sarah Josepha Hale, from 1837-1877. We will examine its contents and its influence on American culture of the time, and also look at some precursors to the magazine. Stacie Murry has worked in the Ingalls Library of The Cleveland Museum of Art for 30 years. She has an M.A. in Art History from CWRU. She has had a lifelong interest in fashion history and now gives vintage fashion presentations to local groups.

Singer-songwriter, Red Chrosniak, learned guitar to make his habit of doodling lyrics on old envelope backs both productive and sustainable. Far from her native prairie, Becca Rhoades lends her improvisational fiddling skills and a little of her Texas drawl to the songs he writes. Red and Becca started playing together upon discovering their shared love of heart-free dancing, getting lost, and making both mischief and music. Their voices create a sweet lyrical blend with the fiddle harmonies and their onstage chemistry is often augmented with cheeky interplay. Red Brick Rhoades offers original songs about the permutations of love, the trials and tribulations of life, and the joys of moonlight, moonshine, and being moonstruck.

Speaking of way, by the way, there is such a thing as a tesseract". Meg's father had been experimenting with this fifth dimension of time travel when he mysteriously disappeared. Now the time has come for Meg, her friend Calvin, and Charles Wallace to rescue him. But can they outwit the forces of evil they will encounter on their heart-stopping journey through space?
