Loganberry Books Educators Night

Wednesday, April 24, 2019, 7-9pm

Loganberry Books is thrilled to announce our first-ever Educators Night, with a keynote workshop led by literacy and learning experts Sara Holbrook and Michael Salinger, refreshments, discounts for educators, and opportunities for collaboration and connection with colleagues from around Northeast Ohio.

Please invite your educator friends to join the event! Participation is free but registration is requested.

Narrative Structure: Jumpstart Narrative in the Classroom
Instructors Sara Holbrook and Michael Salinger present a workshop for educators to facilitate the teaching of writing skills to middle grade students. Infuse your lesson plans with an active and personal approach to fostering creative and focused young writers.

Sara and Michael are frequent speakers and keynoters at state, national and international literacy conferences, as well as providing assembly presentations for students at all grade levels, classroom workshops on writing and public speaking skills, and teacher professional development. Together they have visited over 30 international schools, which has helped them develop expertise in working with second language learners. They are the authors of over 20 books of poetry for adults and young people as well as five teacher professional books, including most recently, From Striving to Thriving Writers: Strategies that Jump Start Writing.

Educators Night at Loganberry will also feature opportunities to create, collaborate, and connect with education colleagues from a variety of institutions across Northeast Ohio. We'll have refreshments, special gifts, and all educators in attendance will get 20% off of book purchases made during the event!

Join us and many other bookstores, libraries, and organizations across the country in celebrating the 100th Anniversary of Children's Book Week! With special activities and promotions, we'll explore the joyful and life-saving and -changing power of books and literacy in children's lives. Throughout the week, young visitors can enjoy interactive activities like the Dav Pilkey Name-o-Changer and coloring stations. Scheduled programing at Loganberry will include:
