Stump the BooksellerG298: girl makes beautiful hats for dolls
A book I read long ago was about a young girl who became entranced with the lovely hats in the window of a millinery shop.  The shop owner taught the girl her art/craft.  There was a lot of detailed description about straw, felt, feathers, veiling, ribbons and such; various millinery styles; and the process of making hats.  The girl began making doll-sized hats and created such lovely ones that people placed special orders, and even famous ladies asked her to make doll hats.  I believe  the shop owner displayed the tiny ones in the window along with her own.
