Greetings local literati!
Thank you for choosing to participate in Author Alley 2018 at Loganberry Books on Saturday, July 7, from 12 p.m. to 4 p.m. We are so looking forward to seeing you!
Author Alley is part of the annual Larchmere Festival, a community street festival which brings around 5,000 people to our neighborhood, and includes special sales by Larchmere merchants, vendors, and residents. If you wish to take a short break any time in the course of the afternoon to experience the rest of this exciting event, please feel free to do so. Literary Cleveland will also be present this year, I encourage you to stop by their booth and talk to them about their various author networking and support programs.
If you have not done so yet, we ask that you please drop off 15 copies of your book at your very earliest convenience. If you have any questions or concerns, you can send an e-mail to paul@logan.com and I will do my best to assist you.
Authors do not need to bring additional books to the event. Load-in of additional supplies (bookmarks, posters, pamphlets, etc.) begins on the day of the event at 11 a.m., so everyone can be well-established by start time at noon. However, please do not arrive prior to 11, as staff will be occupied with festival logistics and set-up. We will have tables, tablecloths, chairs, and books set up when you arrive with a personalized placecard at your assigned seat. Please check in with Loganberry staff stationed at the purple podium on the sidewalk. Staff will direct you to your assigned location. Keep in mind there is limited space; each author gets one chair and shares an 8-foot table with another author.
Parking will be available for authors at the Cleveland Skating Club, located at 2500 Kemper Rd, Cleveland, OH, 44120, a short walk from Loganberry. The Skating Club asks that you park in the back of the lot, away from the building near the paper recycling receptacles. Attached to this email is a parking pass; please print it and have it visible on your dashboard on the day of the event.
I will inform you during the event how many of your books Loganberry would like to purchase for our stock. At the conclusion of the event, please check-out with me in the Box Room just inside the alley with that number of books. Any unsold copies will need to be taken home with you.
There is a chance Author Alley will be hot this year, and our alley is uncovered. Please consider bringing a sun umbrella, hat, sun screen, etc. We will have water available and will be distributing lemonade and light snacks throughout the event.
We are very excited about this chance for the community to meet and support local authors, and hope the Festival proves enjoyable for you as well. It is a great opportunity to meet and network with your fellow authors and your readers. We truly appreciate our local talent, so thank you again for your participation.
Sincerely,
Paul Ryland, Local Author Liaison
